Cat found disembowelled in Yishun leaves behind 'soulmate' who waits by his photo 'as if he might still come back'
After Yishun community cat King Kong was found disembowelled on May 9, his grieving partner Kiki has been seen waiting by his photo as if hoping he might return.
Facebook user Calesta Teo shared an emotional update on Facebook, calling Kiki the "soulmate" of King Kong.
Ms Teo wrote: "Now, she still waits by his photo every day. As if he might still come back."

According to Ms Teo, King Kong used to groom Kiki, and she would always wait for him to return during their daily routines.

But recently, Kiki has been spotted staring at his photo at his memorial site, seemingly aware that he was gone, but not understanding why.
Teo added: "I hope she never finds out what really happened. No soul deserves to know the cruelty he went through."
The culprit behind King Kong's alleged abuse has yet to be identified.
Fearing for Kiki's safety, Ms Vera Helen Chua, an independent cat rescuer and volunteer with the Trap Neuter Return Project, stepped in.
Ms Chua told Stomp that she took Kiki in after spotting her at King Kong's memorial site, and is now going through potential rehoming candidates for Kiki.
She said: "We need to filter to find a suitable home with lots of love."

Ms Chua advised the public against putting collars on community cats as doing so can mislead potential adopters into thinking the cats already have owners.
She said: "Many have come to me saying they wanted to adopt Kiki, but because of the collar, they assumed she was a free-roaming cat with an owner."
