Stomper Mavis saw a car go up in flames after crashing into a tree at Lorong Chuan at 2.50pm today (Dec 29).

The Stomper said the incident occurred near Summer Place condominium.

According to Mavis, a brave staff member of a Caltex petrol station nearby tried to battle the flames with two fire extinguishers before SCDF personnel arrived.

"He was unable to put out the blaze, but continued to fight the fire despite only having two extinguishers," said Mavis.

A video the Stomper took shows firefighters subsequently arriving and setting up a fire hose to combat the flames.
