Car drives off after colliding with motorcycle at Ang Mo Kio junction, police investigating hit-and-run
The police are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a car and a motorcycle at the junction of Marymount Road and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 on Jan 3.

Hit and Run Hit and Run Date and Time of Incident: 3rd January, Friday, at approximately 4:20 PM Location: Road junction intersection of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Marymount Road Incident Description: At the time of the incident, straight traffic along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 was halted due to a red traffic light. The green arrow signal was activated for vehicles turning right on both sides of Marymount Road. A male Chinese motorcycle rider was turning right from Marymount Road into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 (as seen from the right-hand side of the video) when a Hyundai car driven by a lady failed to yield and collided with the motorcycle. The lady driver, described as Chinese, bespectacled, with shoulder-length hair and appearing to be in her early fifties, was driving on the opposite side of Marymount Road. She was also turning right into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 at the time of the collision. After the collision, the lady driver did not stop at the scene. She continued to drive away, completing her turn into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, leaving behind her vehicle’s front bumper at the point of impact with the motorcycle. The video footage shows the motorcycle was significantly damaged. The male biker appeared to be injured. He was seen being assisted by nearby construction workers of Indian origin. The male biker struggled to stand and exhibited signs of a limp in one leg. While the car’s license plate was not visible in the videos, the videos capture the collision incident. The post said the motorcyclist was turning right from Marymount Road into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 when the Hyundai car collided with him.
"After the collision, the lady driver did not stop at the scene. She continued to drive away, completing her turn into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, leaving behind her vehicle’s front bumper at the point of impact with the motorcycle," said the post.
"The video footage shows the motorcycle was significantly damaged. The male biker appeared to be injured. He was seen being assisted by nearby construction workers.
"The male biker struggled to stand and exhibited signs of a limp in one leg."
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at at about 4.30pm and the 51-year-old motorcyclist suffered minor injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
