Two vehicles caught fire in a MacPherson open Housing Board carpark in the early hours of July 6.

Stomp Lou shared a video of the flames taken from a sheltered walkway.

"I heard some loud explosions outside my home at around 3:15am, looked out my window to check on the commotion and saw a really huge fire opposite my block," recounted the Stomper, who went downstairs to record the video.

"I was standing very close to the fire. I was afraid that the vehicle might explode and hit me."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at Block 23 Balam Road at about 3.25am.

The fire, which involved a van and a car, was extinguished by SCDF using a water jet and a hosereel.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
