Eight people on board a bus had to be taken to hospital after the vehicle got into an accident in Tampines on the morning of Sept 29.

In response to queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident at 11.05am.

The bus was believed to have skidded at the junction of Tampines Concourse and Tampines Central 8.

The eight passengers, aged between 19 and 75, were conscious when taken to hospital.

SCDF said they were taken to Changi General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old bus driver is helping with investigations, which are ongoing, the police said.

In photos posted on Facebook group SGRV Front Man in the evening, the bus, with its front bumper damaged, is seen at a stop next to a road divider, which is partially dislodged.

The Straits Times has contacted bus operator SBS Transit for more information.
