Burning offerings in HDB block: Town council advises using burner provided in open spaces
An HDB resident expressed concern that people were burning offerings in the eighth-storey lift lobby at Block 764 Jurong West Street 74 on Feb 18 at 12.52am.
Stomper AAMS said they were jeopadising the safety of other residents and vandalising public property with the black smoke from the burning.
"We can smell it from a few floors away. It is a safety hazard," said the Stomper.
"Police should take serious action against this kind of irresponsible people!"

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for the West Coast Town Council said: "The town council advises residents to utilise the incense burner provided in open spaces to mitigate fire hazards.
"Additionally, we have also issued advisory notices to residents."
Stomp earlier reported that on the same night at 2.30am in Geylang, a resident was awakened by smoke from a couple burning offerings in a drain near his block and called 995 twice.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp: "Members of the public extinguished the fire using two buckets of water prior to SCDF's arrival."
There were no reported injuries.
Feb 18 is the ninth day of the Chinese New Year and is believed to be the birthday of the Jade Emperor, the king of heaven.
