Burmese cleaner safekeeps woman's lost bag at Seah Im Food Centre, initially declines reward

A foreign worker's honesty has won praise online after he helped return a lost bag to its owner, two days after she left it at Seah Im Food Centre.
"I abandoned my IC, my handbag and most importantly, an irreplaceable batik keychain I made for myself," said Serena Wong, the owner of Batik Sayang, who shared a one-minute clip of the heartwarming incident.
When Ms Wong returns to retrieve her bag, she was met by Archie, a Burmese cleaner working at the food centre who had kept the bag in a storeroom.
When she tries to give him a monetary reward, he initially declines, only accepting after she persists. "If you have any prejudice against foreign workers working in Singapore, this video would make you change your mind," adds Ms Wong.
The video, posted on Oct 23, has garnered 4,300 views, 184 reactions and 13 comments as of press time.

Netizens praised Archie, with some complimenting him for having a "big heart."
Others hoped the camera was not "shoved in his face," to which Ms Wong responded that her intention was purely to highlight his good deed.
One netizen even encouraged others to share the video so that "his boss or superior would see this and hopefully reward his kind act."
