Body of 76-year-old man found in Bedok Reservoir
The body of a 76-year-old man was discovered in the waters of Bedok Reservoir on early Tuesday morning (May 18).
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at 6.45am.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) rescuers retrieved the elderly man's body from the waters of the reservoir. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the police cordoned off the scene for over three hours to conduct investigations
A member of the public, who declined to be named, said that joggers had to take a detour as a result of the incident.
Police investigations are ongoing.
