Body of 31-year-old man found floating in waters off Merlion Park, police investigating
The body of a 31-year-old man was found floating in the water off Merlion Park on Saturday (Jan 7).
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 6.25pm.
The body was subsequently retrieved from the surface of the water by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) rescuers.
"Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play," a police spokesman said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos of a death tent set up next to the Merlion statue.
He said the whole area was cordoned off.
Another Stomper shared a video uploaded by aTikTok user of police officers and vehicles at the scene.
