Birds are so used to being fed by a resident at Block 147 Bedok Reservoir Road that they apparently wait by her window every day.

Stomper Anonymous shared photos and a video of pigeons congregating at the window, on a ledge below and on bamboo poles on Aug 8 and 21.

According to the Stomper, this is a daily affair that has been going on for more than two years.

Anonymous said: "The resident used to throw food down the window. After several reports, she stopped for a while, but changed to feeding birds at the window. She places food at the window ledge and calls for the birds.

"You can see from the photos that the birds are well-fed, know when it's feeding time and waiting for food."

This has also resulted in bird droppings all over the walls of the block, alleged Anonymous, who added: "The authorities have given her a warning and installed a camera, but are still not able to stop her from feeding birds."

In response to a Stomp query, Aljunied-Hougang Town Council said it received feedback on the matter in May 2024.

"Following this, an advisory was issued and the case was referred to the National Environment Agency (NEA)," a spokesperson for the town council told Stomp on Aug 25.

"The town council has been conducting ongoing educational outreach on pigeon feeding, highlighting the associated health and hygiene concerns, as well as the offence it constitutes under the Wildlife Act.

"Additionally, discarding items from height is considered high-rise littering, which is also an offence."
