A bird watcher was excited to see a rare species around Toh Tuck Link in Jurong on April 10.

Stomper SK spotted the three pied imperial pigeons at 7pm after work.

"So awesome!" she said.

"I got so excited when I saw them around my office vicinity. It was quiet after work, so they were not disturbed and I could take pictures of them.

"But I only caught two of them in the pictures because the other one was flying so fast."

It was her first time capturing the species on camera.

The Stomper joked: "It's always not easy snapping birdies as they usually do not stay put.

"I'm a nature lover but not a camera professional."

The pied imperial pigeon is native to Southeast Asia, but it is rare in Singapore.

Common habitats for the bird are coastal forests, mangroves, and gardens or parks with fruiting palm trees.
