The Singapore spirit is real, said corndog seller Hazel Chen in a new TikTok video on Aug 2.

This comes after an earlier video where she made a desperate plea for support as her Kwazy Korndogs stall at the Singapore Night Bazaar was losing money due to poor turnout.

"We are on the verge of losing $10K. We need your help," she said in the video, which went viral.

Despite the SG60 event's prime location at Bayfront and a visually appealing setup, the crowds simply failed to show up.

In her video, Ms Chen said the rent costs $500 a day. While the stall earned a healthy $560 on opening day, sales dropped sharply over the next four days - falling to as low as $14 a day.

She also spoke to nearby vendors, who reportedly managed to sell just two food portions and one packet of candy that day.

Feeling "hopeless", she said stallholders now feel it's on them to pull in visitors. "If you like food, nostalgic rides, beautiful lighting, and want to catch the NDP fireworks, please stop by," she urged.

The stall will be operating daily from 4pm to 10pm daily until Aug 10.

Speaking to The New Paper, co-owner and Ms Chen's husband Jay Lam described their situation as "incredibly stressful".

Based on current figures, he estimated that they have lost around $8,000 to $10,000 at this event alone.

Mr Lam described this as the "worst" event they've participated in so far, adding that they typically take part in three to four events each month.

The couple have been running the business full-time for two years.

Netizens flooded the comments with sympathy, many admitting they hadn't even heard of the bazaar.

"Nobody knows about this event," one commenter wrote, pointing to a lack of marketing by the organisers.

Others echoed the sentiment, saying they only found out about the event through the video.

In her new TikTok video, Ms Chen thanked those who shared the earlier video.

"Many of you who personally came down to buy from us yesterday, thank you so much," she said.

"We are extremely touched by your gesture. Other vendors came to us to thank us for posting as they noticed a small increase in footfall yesterday."

Ms Chen added: "This is an event to celebrate the SG60 spirit. What you guys have done truly shows the SG60 spirit."
