69-year-old-woman dies in accident at Commonwealth Ave West, 55-year-old taxi driver arrested
A 69-year-old woman was killed in an accident that occurred along Commonwealth Avenue West at 6.32am today (Oct 23).
The police said a 55-year-old taxi driver had been arrested for causing death by negligent act.
Stomper Angela had alerted Stomp to the incident after coming across a death tent when she was passing by that area at 9.30am.
She said the accident had occurred near Clementi Mall.
A police spokesperson said:
"On Oct 23, at 6.32am, the police were alerted to an accident involving a taxi and a pedestrian along Commonwealth Avenue West.
"The 69-year-old female pedestrian was pronounced dead at scene.
"A 55-year old male taxi driver was arrested for causing death by negligent act.
"Police investigations are ongoing."
