61-year-old man allegedly splashed red paint and left debtor notes at units in Woodlands and Yishun
The police have arrested a 61-year-old man who is suspected to have been involved in three cases of loanshark harassment.
The police said in a statement that they were alerted to the cases at residential units located at Woodlands Drive 62, Yishun Avenue 4 and Yishun Avenue 6, between Jan 15 to 19.
The main doors and the gates of the said units were splashed with red paint and debtor notes were also found at the scenes which were subsequently seized as case exhibits.

Officers identified the man and arrested him on Jan 19.

For first-time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, with up to five years's jail, and caning of up to six strokes.
The police said they have zero tolerance against loanshark harassment activities.
Those who deliberately vandalise properties, cause annoyance or disrupt public safety, peace and security, will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.
Members of the public are advised to stay away from loansharks and not work with or assist them in any way.
The public can call the police at '999' if they suspect or know of anyone who could be involved in loansharking activities.
