61-year-old cyclist dies in accident at Pioneer Road North, 44-year-old bus driver arrested
A 44-year-old bus driver was arrested after a 61-year-old cyclist died in an accident at Pioneer Road North towards Jurong West Avenue 4 on Jan 7.
Stomper Wayne alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a photo of a blue police tent.
The area around the tent was cordoned off with police tape. An orange private bus and an ambulance were observed at the scene.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a bus and a cyclist at about 7.20am.
"A 61-year-old male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic," a police spokesperson said.
"A 44-year-old male bus driver was arrested for driving without reasonable consideration to other road users causing death."
Police investigations are ongoing.
