Vapes found in Merc after Yishun crash, driver arrested and 2 elderly pedestrians injured
The driver of a Mercedes-Benz was arrested after his car mounted a pavement in Yishun on Sept 30.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident along 622 Yishun Ring Road at about 10.20am.
The 36-year-old male car driver and two female pedestrians, aged 67 and 81, were conscious when taken to the hospital.
A Stomper shared photos taken outside Khatib Polyclinic showing the black and white Mercedes on the sidewalk and three ambulances at the scene. Passers-by and paramedics were seen attending to people lying and sitting on the pavement.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that the three people were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
A witness told Shin Min Daily News that two women were "seriously injured" after being hit by the car with both bleeding from their heads.
Another man said he saw two people lying on the ground near a pool of blood.
The left front wheel of the Mercedes appeared damaged and the left side of the vehicle was dented. The car had reportedly knocked over a road sign.

Witnesses told reporters that the driver, dressed in black, appeared "dazed" and remained in the car for some time following the accident. He was reportedly shaking uncontrollably.
The man exited the car after he was instructed to by police officers before sitting down by the side of the road.
A police dog had reportedly been dispatched to search the car.

The police said e-vaporisers and related components were found in the car and seized by the Health Sciences Authority.
The driver was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating substances.
Investigations are ongoing.
