24 heavy vehicles caught without speed limiter label in 3-day enforcement blitz by Traffic Police and LTA
A total of 192 heavy vehicles were stopped for checks in a three-day island-wide enforcement blitz conducted by the Traffic Police and Land Transport Authority (LTA) from May 5 to 7.
Eighty-seven summonses were issued for a wide range of traffic offences, including speeding, using a mobile communication device while driving, failing to keep left and failing to secure load on vehicle using ropes or other proper materials.

Of these, 24 heavy vehicles were found to have failed to display a speed limiter label, which were of particular concern.
The police said speed limiters are crucial safety devices installed within the vehicle, typically connected to the vehicle's accelerator system, which restrict the vehicle's maximum speed, significantly reducing the risk of speed-related accidents.
These devices will ensure that these vehicles do not go beyond the speed limit of 60kmh.
Heavy vehicles installed with speed limiters are required to display a label on the top right portion of the front windscreen as seen from the outside of the vehicle.
In addition, 94 LTA-related violations were also found, including overloaded vehicles.
