The police said they were alerted to the incident on July 21 at about 6.45am.

They received a report that an unknown man had allegedly molested a 12-year-old girl while on board an MRT train.

Through follow-up investigations and with the help of CCTV images, officers from the Public Transport Security Command managed to identify the man and arrested him within 13 hours of the report.
