A 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were taken to hospital in an accident involving a motorcycle and black car yesterday (Oct 4) outside Our Tampines Hub.

The man and woman were both on the motorcycle when it hit the car.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said: "On Oct 4 at 3.30pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving a car and a motorcycle at the junction of Tampines Avenue 4 and 5.

"The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, and pillion rider, an 18-year-old woman, were conscious when conveyed to Changi General Hospital."

Stomper Mon was in a taxi on the way to the hub when she saw the incident at 5pm.

She said: "There was a lane along the road that was blocked and there was a police car there too."

According to the driver of the car, the traffic light turned green and he checked for other vehicles before turning right.

However, he claimed that the motorcycle came from the other direction and collided with his car.

Police investigations are ongoing.
