Two men, aged 29 and 64, are assisting with police investigations following a dispute that happened at a Cheers outlet in Lau Pa Sat on Sunday (Jan 1).
The police told Stomp that they were alerted to a dispute at 18 Raffles Quay at 8.05pm.
"No injuries were reported," a police spokesman said.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that comments about race and nationality, and verbal threats, were allegedly exchanged prior to the police's arrival."
Police investigations are ongoing.
The incident came to light after a Cheers staffer, who identifies himself as Jonathan, uploaded five videos on his TikTok page.
In the footage, police officers were heard repeatedly asking him for his identification card but Jonathan refused to do so and started questioning them instead.
On Jan 2, Cheers posted on its Facebook page that it was notified of the incident.
"We would like to assure the public that our staff will offer our full co-operation and compliance when rendering assistance to the authorities," the statement said.
"Following the incident, the staff involved has also been counselled and put on administrative leave pending further investigation.
"We thank the public for your concern and apologise for any distress that this incident has caused."
