Two men, aged 48 and 61, were arrested for allegedly using a metal stick to attack another man during a dispute in Geylang.

The police said they received a call for assistance in the vicinity of Lorong 24 Geylang on Jan 20, at around 7.35am.

They added: "Preliminary investigations revealed that the two men purportedly got into a dispute with a 26-year-old male victim and had allegedly used a metal stick to attack the victim."

The victim sustained injuries and was conscious when taken to hospital.

The metal stick was found at the scene and subsequently seized as a case exhibit.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them within nine hours of the report.

The two men will be charged in court on Jan 22 with the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons with common intention, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and/or a fine and/or caning.
