A resident who claims that he paid $1.5m for his condominium unit apologised to a security officer several times after he was filmed shouting vulgarities at the latter over a $10 parking fee.

The incident occurred at Eight Riversuites condominium in Bendemeer, at about 11pm on Friday (Oct 25). The resident's employer, JP Morgan, was also aware of the video and said that they were looking into the matter

In a Facebook post on Oct 30, honorary secretary of the Association of Certified Security Agencies (ACSA) Gary Haris said: "Mr Ramesh was very remorseful and he apologised to SSS Steven Heng many times during the hour-long meeting."

According to the post, Mr Ramesh addresses SSS Steven as Uncle Steven and the pair has had several conversations before.

Mr Ramesh said he was worked up over the rule of collecting $10 parking fees for overnight parking and he didn't mean to hurt or harm SSS Steven in any way.

SSS Steven said he had forgiven Mr Ramesh and thanked him for coming personally to apologise to him. He also urged everyone to forgive Mr Ramesh and forget this incident

President of Security Association Singapore Raj Thomas also attended the meeting and said in a Facebook post: "Ramesh said that the person in the video is not reflective of who he really is. Having met him this evening, I believe him.

"All of us have lost our temper and said something we regretted at some time or other, later realizing that we could have done better.

"What is important is that we make amends when we are wrong. Ramesh has done this - sincerely and honestly."

The Straits Times reported that Mr Ramesh obtained citizenship under the Family Ties Scheme. He is married to a Singaporean who was born locally.

MHA added that the police are investigating a report that was lodged against Mr Ramesh for intentionally causing harassment to a security officer at Eight Riversuites condominium.
