10 women arrested for vice in MacPherson massage parlour, one believed to be operator
Ten women, aged between 31 and 42, were arrested for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities on Aug 28.
Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted a raid at a massage parlour at MacPherson Road and arrested the women for offences under the Women's Charter.
One woman, 39, believed to be the operator of the massage parlour, will be charged in court on Aug 30 with keeping, managing or assisting in the management of a brothel.
Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $100,000.
Any person who keeps, manages or assists in the management of a place of assignation shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
