A worker was rescued from a 30m-high crane on Aug 6 after he felt unwell and was unable to descend on his own.

The rescue operation took place at about 9.40pm that night at a construction site in Loyang North Drive, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post on Aug 7.

SCDF firefighters and specialists from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Dart) were activated for the rescue.

A team of Dart specialists ascended the crane via a cat ladder, set up rescue equipment and secured the worker onto a stretcher, said SCDF.

The worker was then safely lowered to the ground and assessed by an SCDF paramedic before being taken to Changi General Hospital, SCDF added.
