National water agency PUB has reported that a flash flood is taking place at Yishun Avenue 7 and urged the public to avoid the area amid torrential rain across the island on April 13.

In a social media post, it added that PUB officers have been deployed to render assistance at about 1.50pm.

Just 10 minutes earlier, it had issued a flash flood risk alert for Yishun Avenue 7 and then expanded the alert to include Yishun Avenue 2 and Yishun Avenue 5.

The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) on April 1 said moderate to heavy thundery showers are expected over parts of Singapore in the afternoon on most days of this month.

The total rainfall for the first half of April is expected to be above average across most parts of the island, MSS said.

Daily maximum temperatures are likely to range between 33 deg C and 34 deg C on most days, with some days possibly reaching up to 35 deg C.
