People are freaking out over creature that washed up on Indonesian beach: Here's what it really is

Is it a giant squid? A mythical creature with tusks?

These were the assumptions made after a huge creature washed up on an Indonesian beach recently.

Although it is a sight to behold, the truth behind what it actually is may be a little anti-climatic:

It's a rotten whale carcass.

So, contrary to what local Indonesian soldiers assumed, it is not a rare giant squid and is definitely not dangerous.

Its 'tusks' are actually the whale's exposed jawbone, reports Distractify.
