Indonesian slum gets stunning makeover and has tourists flocking to it

What used to be a rundown slum has now been transformed into the hottest new Instagram hotspot.

The Indonesian government has invested over $30,000 for the makeover of Kampung Pelangi or Rainbow Village in English.

Creative murals and stunning displays of bright colours and designs have been painted over passageways and walls, giving a new burst of life to the village.

Now, even tourists have taken notice of the vibrant kampung and have started to flock there to get first dibs on posing for Instagram-worthy photos.

This has only benefitted the people of the village as local businesses are seeing a rise in souvenir and food sales, reports Bored Panda.
