Abnormal cold wave in Taiwan leaves 49 dead

Abnormally cold weather this time of the year has claimed the lives of 49 people in Taiwan.
As the cold wave arrived in Taiwan, temperatures plummeted, reports Lianhe Wanbao.
Snowfall was also seen at Hehuanshan, an unusual occurrence.
Meanwhile, the lush Lara mountain has been transformed into a white snowy landscape.
The Chiayi County also saw a record low 8.3 degrees Celsius.
In light of the frigid climate, travel advisories have advised travellers to pack for the cold.
