# Woman thinks she’s buying Keshi tickets, ends up spending $196 on Kenshi Yonezu instead

A woman and her friends thought they were buying tickets to see American singer-songwriter Keshi perform in Singapore — but ended up paying nearly $200 each for tickets to Japanese musician Kenshi Yonezu’s concert instead.

Instagram user @_nuttymeg shared the mix-up in a post on Oct 27, explaining that she had come across what she thought was an announcement for Keshi’s performance in Singapore next year.

As fans of Keshi’s music, she and her two friends were excited at the prospect of seeing him live.

Social media posts promoting the concert showed that tickets for the Jan 29, 2027 show were sold out, with an additional show added for Jan 30.

“Which sounds very Keshi right? Because the last time he came to Singapore, if I’m not wrong, he also almost sold out his show,” she recalls.

They proceeded to purchase Cat 2 tickets for $196 per person.

However, a day or two later, one of her friends dropped a bombshell in their group chat, saying: “Yall we bought Kenshi???”

“And then that was when I saw the poster on Ticketmaster’s website. It was for Kenshi. It wasn’t for Keshi,” she says, recounting how the trio started “crashing out” upon realising their mistake.

Kenshi Yonezu’s 2026-2027 world tour, titled GHOST, features the Japanese singer-songwriter known for hits in the opening themes of popular anime series Chainsaw Man and My Hero Academia.

The trio subsequently tried to request a refund through Ticketmaster’s website, but were unsuccessful.

“I’m sure Kenshi is an amazing performer,” she adds, admitting that she simply “didn’t see the wording properly”.

“But the aesthetics of it all just screams Keshi to me,” she says.

In the post’s caption, she adds: “Anybody who wants KENSHI tickets… let me know…”

## Netizens encourage Instagrammer to go for the concert

In the comments section, several users admitted that they, too, had mistaken the Japanese musician’s poster for one featuring Keshi.

Others also encouraged her to attend the concert anyway.

“It’s a sign for you to go. Kenshi is an amazing artiste,” one netizen wrote.

Another described his songs as “popular and viral”, while one added: “You will LOVE HIM.”

Mediacorp radio DJ Gerald Koh also chimed in: “You’re taking the first step to becoming Kenshi’s NUMBER 1 fan in sg.”
