# Man scales tree to retrieve laundry pole at Jurong HDB: ‘Waiting to flex his childhood skill’

A video of a man retrieving a laundry pole that had apparently become stuck in a tree was applauded by netizens for his agility.

Footage of the scene was shared on the SingaporeRaw subreddit on Oct 28, showing a man in a striped shirt hanging onto branches near the top of a tree. The location appears to be next to an HDB block in Jurong West.

A woman stands at the foot of the tree, watching as the man reaches up and grabs the laundry pole before dropping it to the ground.

He then makes his way down, gripping the branches and carefully sliding down the tree trunk. He dusts off his hands after landing.

In the comments section, many netizens commended the man for his “mad skills”.

“Pak cik has been waiting to flex his childhood skill all along,” one netizen commented, while another agreed that he “only needed a valid reason to climb that tree”.

Others described the scene as “kampung spirit in action”.

“Reading this comment section makes me sad for all the Singaporeans that have never touched a tree (other than as punishment during NS) or let alone climb one,” another netizen mused.
