# Husband and wife have sex at stairwell before getting into violent dispute, woman flees to MRT station to seek help

*What began as a confrontation between an estranged couple allegedly turned violent, with the woman escaping to an MRT station to seek help.*

A woman who had obtained a personal protection order against her husband was allegedly assaulted by him twice, with the second incident ending with her fleeing to an MRT station to seek help.

The 26-year-old man faced seven charges, including voluntarily causing hurt, theft and breaching a personal protection order.

He pleaded guilty to two charges on Oct 23 and was sentenced to 14 weeks’ jail, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Court proceedings revealed that the woman had obtained a personal protection order against her husband on June 28, 2022, prohibiting him from using violence against her.

## Man punched wife on the mouth

On Feb 11, 2025, the man was informed by his wife that their then four-year-old son had suffered an epileptic seizure.

The couple took the boy to hospital, where doctors at the emergency department initially advised that he could be discharged after his examination.

However, the medical team later decided that further checks were needed for a lump on the boy’s head and asked for him to be admitted.

The man grew furious and got into a heated argument with his wife. When she tried to cover his mouth with her hand during the row, he punched her in the mouth.

He was arrested by the police but subsequently released on bail.

## Wife asked to remarry

On Nov 27, 2025, the woman learnt from a friend that her husband suspected her of being unfaithful.

Angry at the allegation, she arranged to meet him to confront him about it on Dec 27, 2025, at Block 415 Serangoon Central.

In addition to discussing the matter, the couple also had sex at the stairwell before getting into another argument.

When the woman told her husband that she no longer had feelings for him and wanted to marry someone else, he allegedly lost his temper.

He grabbed her by the neck, pushed her away and held tightly onto both her hands while aggressively questioning her.

The woman eventually managed to escape and ran to a nearby MRT station to seek help from staff.

The man was arrested again following the incident.
