# Correction and apology

In our article “Man, 37, slaps 4-year-old boy for pointing middle finger, gets 14 weeks’ jail,” published on Oct 1, 2026, a photograph of Mr Mohammed Firdaus bin Mohd Rafi was erroneously used, even though he was not the person named in the article and had nothing to do with the case.

We had taken down his photograph on Oct 2, 2026.

We are sorry for the error and apologise to Mr Mohammed Firdaus bin Mohd Rafi for the distress caused.
