ComfortDelGro taxi seen travelling with open door in viral videos, driver dismissed
A ComfortDelGro (CDG) driver has been dismissed after videos showing a taxi travelling with its door open circulated on social media.
On Feb 24, a clip showing a yellow taxi cruising along Jalan Ismail — located in a landed housing estate in Kembangan — with the driver's door open was shared on the SGRV Admin Facebook page.
The person who submitted the video described it as a "very dangerous act" which endangered the lives of the driver, passengers, and other road users.
On Feb 19, the same taxi purportedly appeared in another post, travelling along Bartley Road East with the driver's door hanging open and windows rolled down.
The netizen who reported the incident added that the driver had "almost crashed into the divider a couple of times."
Some netizens were amused at the incident, saying that the driver was a "stuntman on the wrong job", while others speculated on the reasons for the driver's actions.
Several netizens also urged CDG to take action.
ComfortDelGro driver dismissed
In response to Stomp's queries, a ComfortDelGro spokesperson said that the company is aware of the two incidents involving the same vehicle.
"The driver is no longer with the company," the spokesperson added.
