A violent altercation broke out in Johor over a loan dispute, with the driver of a car appearing to ram into a man.

Viral footage of the incident shows the man lying on an overturned motorcycle, with his leg bent at an unnatural angle.

A car reverses and drives toward him, appearing to ram into the man.

His face and hand can be seen hitting the ground. The car then reverses and drives off, despite another person’s attempt to open its side door.

## Man suffers fractured leg

Malaysia news site Malay Mail reported that a 35-year-old man fractured his right leg as a result of the dispute.

The incident occurred outside a supermarket in Skudai, Johor. Police said they were alerted to the incident at about 6.38pm on Oct 30.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief Radin Ramlan Radin Taha said initial investigations found that the dispute involved two parties who were acquainted with one another.

“In the incident, a 35-year-old local man suffered a broken right leg following an incident involving a car driven by one of the individuals involved,” Radin Ramlan said in a statement on Oct 31.

The victim received treatment at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA), Johor Bahru, and is reported to be in stable condition.

## 3 locals arrested

Three locals — a man and two women aged between 34 and 53 — were detained to assist in investigations. A Proton Saga was also seized.

Urine tests on all three suspects returned negative for drugs, while police checks found that none had previous criminal records.

The case is being investigated for rioting, which carries a jail term of up to two years, a fine, or both.

It is also being investigated for attempted murder, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine, or up to 20 years if hurt is caused.
