# ‘Bro, nothing else in your life?’: TikToker shares 3 theories on why S’porean men cheat while cooking pasta

A single man’s rant about Singaporean men who cheat has sparked a lively discussion on infidelity.

TikToker @dargoyaki, whose real name is Daryl Goh, shared a four-minute and 14-second video on Nov 1 after “seeing a lot of stories and exposés of Singaporean men cheating on their partners”.

Goh, a content creator who produces guidance and self-improvement videos, shares three reasons why he thinks some men cheat — all while preparing lunch.

## ‘Bro, I don’t even have time to fool around’

“Why do these men have so much time to cheat? Like bro, nothing else in your life?” he asks, introducing his first theory.

Goh believes that men who cheat have no real interests or hobbies to occupy their time, questioning how they manage to juggle infidelity with everything else in their lives.

Even as a single man living alone, he says he barely has time “to fool around like this”, with so many other things he would rather do.

“I’ve got so many other random things that I wanna do like, I don’t know, reading a book, going for a Muay Thai class, filming more content, making more food,” he says.

His second reason: That Singaporean men who cheat may have chased what they see as the ideal life — finding a girlfriend, getting married and getting a flat — without considering whether that is what they really want.

“They just follow what’s going on around them, follow what the Government tells them, they just follow the checklist of a good life because that is what is normal to do,” he says.

“In reality, they just want to be single and mingle around and have lots of sex.”

Finally, he believes that men who cheat are cowards who no longer want their relationships but lack the courage to initiate a split.

So, instead of taking ownership of their feelings, “they make the relationship incredibly hard for their partners until that partner is the one that initiates the breakup”, suggests Goh.

The video has since racked up more than 79,100 views, 6,270 reactions and 168 comments.

## ‘Throwing so many good points while casually cooking’

One TikToker who lived overseas agreed with Goh’s assessment of men who follow a relationship checklist.

“Living overseas, a lot of the couples I’ve met tend to actually WANT to spend time with each other. Their partners are actually their best friends. They enjoy each other’s company, and more,” said a TikToker.

“While these men in Singapore, all talk about, ‘I need a bros night’, ‘escape from family’ and all that BS. Cowards is the exact word. You hit the nail on the head. Checklist men.”

“Well said,” said another netizen.

“Throwing so many good points while casually cooking,” added one.

Several women also shared their experiences with cheating partners.

“My ex is short and had deep acne scars, he had very low self-esteem before meeting me, over the 12 years together I showered him with praises to boost his confidence, only for him to start flirting with his uni classmate and clubmates and go on solo trips with one of the girls to New Zealand,” recalled one.

“After we broke up, he almost immediately got together with a clubmate of his who he previously said was ‘just a friend’.”

Another said: “My ex - a medical doctor, despite the busy schedule, had time for such things and to talk crap about women in the group chat he has with his friends who are (surprising) lawyers, entrepreneurs, accountants, directors of some firms.”

One man claimed that women prefer bad boys.

“It’s because women are attracted to those types of men. They have game, while loyal guys often don’t. I’ve tried both approaches. Being genuinely nice and loyal didn’t work, but when I switched tactics and used methods that guys who cheat typically use, a woman wanted me to be her boyfriend within two weeks,” said the netizen.

Another lamented that he has never even had the opportunity to cheat.

“People cheating everywhere — whereas me, single since the day I was born for 37 years…don’t even have that luxury or chance to even initiate a cheating, man,” he wrote.
