A woman has found the AirPods that she lost in Yishun on Aug 22 - though not without damage.

In a report on Aug 29, Stomper Evelyn recounted trying to locate the AirPods and even playing sound on them for an hour, but to no avail.

Her appeal on Stomp went viral, garnering over 85,000 views.

Days later, Evelyn received a call from a man, who found the AirPods at Block 502A Yishun Street 51 - exactly where she had last traced them to.

Evelyn said: "I had gone around the block to put up notices with my contact on Sept 2. The next evening, an uncle called me and said someone had placed a similar pair of AirPods on top of the letterbox.

"I went over and the uncle said someone had left the AirPods there on Sept 1. His wife had told him to hold on to the AirPods in case someone was looking for them."

The uncle got in touch with Evelyn right after seeing her notice.

"I offered him a monetary reward, but he kept refused and kept saying it's normal to return someone's stuff," the Stomper added.

There are signs that someone had tried to remove the engraving of her name on the AirPods, said Evelyn, who added: "I highly believe the person who found the AirPods initially wanted to sell them due to the fact that the engraving was scratched off.

"But maybe they saw the Stomp article, read that a police report has been made, and decided to leave the AirPods at the mailbox out of guilt or fear.

"Whatever it is, I am grateful that the AirPods are back with me after many search attempts and ways to get it back. I am grateful that Stomp decided to help me out as well, even though I predicted there would be some bad comments out there.

"However, that doesn't stop me from getting back my item as I believe there kind souls out there, just like that uncle who waited for me to reach the block and returned my item to me without wanting any reward."
