Youth goes 'block shopping' in Punggol corridor
A Punggol resident is on high alert after a boy was caught on camera behaving suspiciously outside his corner unit.
Stomper A told Stomp the incident happened at his Edgedale Plains block on Oct 15 at about 4.20pm, describing the boy's actions as 'block shopping'.
"My house is a corner unit so usually, no one walks over unless they're selling something or delivering a parcel," he said.
According to the Stomper, his CCTV camera had captured the same boy passing by his unit at least two to three times.
"He rode his scooter all the way to the corner of my flat and looked at my stuff in slow motion," he shared.
On Oct 15, he said the boy returned, this time looking directly into his shoe cabinet.
"He attempted to steal one of my original Nike Air Max sandals," he claimed. "Why would a stranger look into other people's stuff like that?"
In the video, the boy is seen reaching into the shoe cabinet and looking at the sandal before putting it back.
"I believe he will be back for more things if something catches his eye," the Stomper said.
"I realise a few other residents have lost some items too.
"Previously, my son's big car toys were stolen, while some other residents reported their scooter missing too.
"We need to create awareness for them to stop block shopping."
