# Yishun restaurant keeps blaming delivery rider after customer gets $231.80 order with soup spilled

A customer was dissatisfied with his botched delivery order from a restaurant, and even more so with their poor attempt at service recovery.

Stomper R ordered $231.80 worth of food from Master Leong Seafood's Yishun Ring Road outlet on Dec 8. The order was made online, with delivery arranged directly by the restaurant.

Amongst the items were chilli crabs, which "came with little sauce", said R.

Meanwhile, the crab bee hoon arrived with most of its soup spilled.

R noted that the delivery was on time, but said: "I shared feedback with the merchant, but the person handling it kept putting the blame on the delivery rider instead of offering solutions.

"My request for soup replenishment was not met but I was offered a 15% discount on my next order, which I think is not acceptable. How to enjoy crab bee hoon soup with so little soup?"

The Stomper shared screenshots of his conversation with the restaurant:

> Restaurant: "Sorry, should be because the soup is too full and spilled while the delivery rider was riding the motorcycle."

Stomper: "This kind of service, I won't dare to order again next time."

Restaurant: "Really sorry. This problem, I will tell them to take note and improve. Because we usually pack this soup separately, maybe the rider squashed it, causing the soup to spill from the container."

> Stomper: "This is unacceptable. You should get what you pay for. Service is too lousy."

Restaurant: "I can only apologise to you, because the delivery rider caused this situation. Because takeaways in the shop are packed separately, such situations will not happen as long as the delivery rider does not squash it. Because there is some distance, and the container will soften under heat if there is pressure on it. So if there is soup, we always pack it separately."

> Stomper: "I only just reached home and saw (the food). So little soup, how to eat, should you replenish the soup for me."

Restaurant: "I have surfaced this problem to my boss. He says to give you a 15% discount on your next door. Really sorry."

Stomper: "There is no next time. Now want to eat, soup not enough. If you or your boss were the ones who ordered, can you accept this..."

R told Stomp: "This is bad customer service."

Perhaps Master Leong Seafood should take a leaf out of JB Tai Pai Tong Seafood's book.
