In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the fire at 7.20am.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using a hosereel and a Compressed Air Foam (CAF) backpack," an SCDF spokesperson said.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

SCDF advised drivers to keep a fire extinguisher in their vehicles in a Feb 18 Facebook post. This could help put out fires immediately.

However, if the vehicle is an electric one, or if the blaze threatens to engulf the vehicle, drivers should retreat at least 15m away from the flames and call 995 for assistance.
