Two couples with pet dogs under fire for crappy behaviour inside and outside VivoCity
Two couples have drawn the ire of passers-by and netizens for inconsiderate behaviour with their pet dogs.
The first case involved a couple seen walking around VivoCity with their furry friend on March 1.
Facebook user Charmian Tan called out the duo for letting their dog walk on the ground instead of using a carrier. Photos she posted show the canine walking alongside its owner in the mall while on a leash.
Tan wrote in her post: "What's upsetting is that I have nicely told them that dogs aren't allowed on the ground in the mall. They ignored and continued walking their dog on the ground. Whoever that knows them, pls kindly inform them to follow rules so that sg can be a more pet friendly place (sic)."
She also responded to those "scolding" her by saying: "I have no issue with dogs in malls, and I as a pet owner hope that more malls in sg allows pets. VivoCity IS A PET FRIENDLY MALL, but there are some rules that we have to abide by. Pets have got to be in carrier/carried. They are not allowed to walk on the ground in the mall."
Many netizens agreed that the couple was being inconsiderate, with one commenting: "There are no bad dogs, only bad owners."
The second incident involved a couple who apparently did not clean up after their pet dog after it defecated on a grass patch outside VivoCity.
Stomper Wilson said the incident occurred on March 8 at around 6.30pm.

He recounted: "A couple was walking their dog and when it pooped on the grass, they just walked away without picking it up.
"My wife, being kind, assumed they might not have a plastic bag, so she went over and offered one to them (the purple one which the man is holding onto in the photos). It was just a simple goodwill gesture.
"Instead of doing the right thing, they acted clueless and even called my wife crazy."
Wilson said he hopes to raise awareness by sharing the incident. He also posted about it on Facebook, where it quickly gained traction, with several Stompers alerting Stomp to it.
"Seriously, how hard is it to clean up after your own pet?" Wilson added.
"Basic responsibility, people. It is because of such pet owners that other pet owners who do their part dutifully are being punished."
The Stomper has since removed his Facebook post. He explained: "I initially shared the incident on Facebook because I was really frustrated by the lack of responsibility shown by some pet owners.
"My wife and I always make sure to clean up after our own dog and it's disappointing when others don't do the same. it gives all responsible pet owners a bad name.
"I took the post down after a couple of days because my wife felt it had served its purpose as a lesson to those involved.
"That said, I still feel strongly about the issue. It's getting harder to bring our fur babies out due to irresponsible owners, and I just hope more people will step up and do their part."
