Trailer truck jackknifes in Tuas Checkpoint viaduct, driver arrested after 2 motorcyclists hurt
A trailer driver, 35, was arrested after two motorcylists, aged 36 and 38, were hurt in an accident with the trailer near the Tuas Checkpoint on the evening of June 7.
Videos of the crash and its aftermath were posted online.
The trailer truck appeared to have jackknifed in the viaduct, ending up blocking the three-lane road.
In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted at about 8pm to the accident on the Ayah Rajah Expressway towards Tuas near the Tuas Checkpoint exit.
One motorcyclist was taken to National University Hospital and the other to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. Both were conscious.
The police told Stomp the male trailer driver was arrested for careless driving causing hurt.
Police investigations are ongoing.
