Trailer driver assisting with investigations after concrete slabs fall onto Upper Bukit Timah Road
A 54-year-old trailer driver is assisting the police with investigations after huge concrete slabs fell onto Upper Bukit Timah Road on April 9.
Several Stompers alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos of the slabs that appeared to have fallen off the trailer.
"The concrete slabs blocked two lanes, leaving just one lane open to traffic," said Stomper Angel, a resident in the area.
"They were still working on clearing the road till late, past 11pm."
Stompers Nick and Anonymous saw workers in yellow vests setting up traffic cones and cordoning off the area.
A crane was later observed lifting the slabs off the road.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the incident along Upper Bukit Timah Road towards Jalan Anak Bukit at 6.50pm.
The male driver is assisting police with ongoing investigations.
This is the latest accident involving a trailer.
On March 21, a massive pipe fell off a trailer and blocked lanes at Balestier Road.
This happened just a few days after a a huge concrete block fell off a trailer in Tuas South on March 19.
