Too 'prosperous'? Chubby God of Fortune takes a tumble after rain in Bukit Panjang
Is this Singapore's version of Humpty Dumpty?
Stomper Steven was amused to see a fun-sized God of Fortune in Bukit Panjang - and even more so when the balloon sculpture fell over the following day.
Steven first noticed the Chinese New Year decoration at a night bazaar in front of Hillion Mall on Jan 13. The God of Fortune can be seen perched on the tentage.
The Stomper said: "This must be the fattest God of Fortune I've ever seen. He looks overweight. Perhaps his previous job was a Santa Claus.
"Maybe it's meant to add some amusement to shoppers and residents. Otherwise, I have never seen such a prosperous God Of Fortune before. I hope he returns trimmer next year."
Perhaps Steven is right, as the God of Fortune was seen falling flat on his face on Jan 14.
A photo shows the deflated-looking sculpture lying face-down on the tentage.
Steven quipped: "Look what the rain has done to him."
