Stomper says $7 ginkgo nut soup at Albert Centre came with only lotus seeds: 'I was cheated'
Few things ruin a meal faster than disappointment.
Stomper Ignatius said he was upset after discovering that his order at a hawker stall in Albert Centre Market and Food Centre did not match what was advertised.
This happened when he ordered a meal from Shi Li Xiang Lao Huo Tang on Oct 28.
"I headed there for dinner as it's one of my go-to places," said the Stomper. "I ordered the pepper ginkgo nut pig's stomach soup, which cost $7, and paid an extra $1 for a bowl of white rice."
He said the "auntie was anything but cheery" but did not think much of it - until he started eating.
"When I started to dig in, I realised I was shortchanged," Ignatius said.
"I was cheated.
"There were no ginkgo nuts in my soup - only lotus seeds."
He noted that the stall's signboard clearly listed ginkgo nuts as part of the dish.
Stomp has reached out to Shi Li Xiang Lao Huo Tang for comment.
