A McDonald's customer found it "a bit ridiculous" that a pack of french fries he received was only half full.

Stomper Andy had bought a Big Mac meal and and nine-piece nugget meal at the drive-through at the Sengkang Sport Complex on Feb 25 at 5.49pm.

"It was a mistake that I did not check my order before driving off as there were cars behind and it was peak hour," recounted the Stomper.

"When I reached home, the portion of large fries was less than the medium fries, barely over half the pack. My family thought I had eaten half of it. I was driving, and I do not drive and eat. It's distracting and dangerous, and my hand gets oily.

"A few times previously, the fries portion was also not the full box. I okay with it, but this time, it was a bit ridiculous.

"Cost-cutting also not like this leh. I would suggest QC checks by the staff when handing out orders.

"Don't tell me the smaller portion is to cover the cost of the shaker powder. I know it's inflation everywhere, but now McDonald's meals are getting more expensive and they're charging for extra syrup and curry sauce.

"McDonald's was previously affordable. Now I need to think twice before ordering."

The two meals he ordered cost a total of $21.15, but the Stomper got a feedback reward, which was a $1 discount. So he paid $20.15.

In response to a Stomp query about the fries, a McDonald's spokesperson said: "We take our customers' feedback as seriously as we do our fries. We're committed to giving every customer a great fries experience.

"Our team has reached out directly to the customer to offer our sincere apologies and make good for our shortfall."

The customer told Stomp: "The manager called me and wanted to give me a refund. I said forget it. Not the first time."
