Wei Sien was not too fazed by the delay and said it wasn't his first experience.

"I cannot totally blame them for the delay and the staff already provided very good service," he said.

SMRT posted on their X account regarding the signalling fault at 5.36pm.

It said that there would be an additional travelling time of 10 minutes from Orchard to Gardens By the Bay stations. Commuters were advised to continue their journeys on alternate lines.

At 5.50pm, the additional travelling time was extended to 15 minutes.

Free regular bus and bus bridging services were made available between Orchard and Garden By the Bay stations.

At 6.12pm, SMRT said that train services were progressively resuming and at 6.22pm, free bus services were seized.

SMRT apologised to affected commuters.
