# Stomper accidentally kicks faeces and mud at Outram Park MRT station, confused this can happen in S’pore

A man was startled when he accidentally kicked what appeared to be faeces and mud at Outram Park MRT station on Oct 19.

Stomper Daniel was at the station at around 8.45pm when he nearly stepped on the mess.

“It’s faeces and not just mud,” said the Stomper, who shared photos showing a black substance and traces of soil on the ground. “It smelled really bad.”

Daniel was unsure whether the faeces were from a person or animal, or how long the mess had been there.

“It was right in front of the station agent’s office and they had no idea it was there until I pointed it out after kicking it accidentally,” he recounted.

*The Stomper said the mess consisted of faeces and mud.*

The Stomper said he was confused by the incident, adding: “This sort of thing happens all the time in places like New York or San Francisco or Los Angeles, but I’ve never had it happen in Singapore... Let alone in a controlled and CCTV-monitored environment like Outram Park MRT station.”

## Staff could not believe what it was

According to Daniel, station employees covered the mess with newspapers and put up yellow ‘Wet Floor’ signs until cleaning staff arrived to clean it up.

“MRT staff had a couple seconds of incredulity as they registered what actually it was,” he said.

Daniel added that the mess was “not super hard” to clean off his footwear upon reaching home, though he had to use soap and water.

“More annoying was walking home from the incident and trying not to further spread it around with each step,” he told Stomp on Oct 23.
