The police have caught a person suspected of vandalising the Skyparc@Dawson sign in Queenstown over the weekend, said the Tanjong Pagar Town Council.

Stomper Ray shared photos of the partially toppled sign on Sept 27. While the letters for "Dawson" were mostly intact, the letters for "Skyparc@" were down.

"The HDB estate name seemed to have been badly vandalized overnight at 94 Dawson Road," said the Stomper.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for Tanjong Pagar Town Council said the town council was alerted to the act of vandalism and had lodged a police report.

"We have since received an update from the police confirming that the culprit has been identified," added the spokesperson on Sept 30.

"The only detail disclosed to us at this point is that the individual is not a resident within our town.

"The vandalised signage was removed yesterday, repair works have been scheduled and will be completed by the end of October."

Informed that the culprit had been identified, the Stomper said: "Good! I think the whole neighborhood wants to know who would do such a thing and why."

The police told Stomp they received a call for assistance at 94 Dawson Road on Sept 27 at about 2.10am.

A 30-year-old man is assisting with investigations into a case of mischief.

Police investigations are ongoing.
