Single man who spent $10,000 on dating agencies without success gets a date, thanks to Stomp
He got a date because of Stomp.
Stomper Ng had shared his story about not being able to find a partner even after spending about $10,000 on dating agencies since 2013 in a Feb 16 Stomp article.
The 41-year-old security officer also requested: "Maybe you can let the girls who are interested to know me contact me?"
A retired teacher named Grace read the article and contacted Stomp.
She knew someone named N who was interested in meeting the Stomper.
N is a church friend of the Indonesian wife of Grace's godson.
Grace told Stomp: "I am trying to help my Indonesian goddaughter-in-law so that her church friend can get a suitable partner and have a family of her own in Singapore.
"N is an Indonesian Christian who is looking for a friend with marriage in mind. She is 30 years old, can speak English and is currently working as a helper in Singapore. She hopes to settle down here."
The Stomper had said in the article: "I don't mind if she is a Singaporean or foreigner. I am also okay if she is a divorcee or widow."
About the Stomper, Grace said: "N thinks 41 is generally considered a suitable age for a man to settle down as by this point, most men have gained significant life experience and are often more emotionally mature, making them well-prepared for a committed relationship and family life."
Grace shared a photo of N, which Stomp shared with the Stomper, who said: "I am interested to know her."
A first date on Feb 23 was arranged.
"I hope both of them will like each other and get along well right from the start," said Grace before the date.
After the date, the Stomper told Stomp: "I met her for only 10 minutes as Sunday was her only day off and she was going to church.
"I think in the future if there's a chance, I would still want to contact her."
Grace said: "N found him rather weird with her doing most of the talking. So they parted ways after meeting for only 10 minutes.
"Maybe he could not express what he wanted to say and became tongue-tied and inhibited."
Grace added that N said no to meeting the Stomper again. There would not be a second date.
Grace then asked Stomp to help her contact another man who had paid a Vietnam bride matchmaking agency $10,000 but could not find a wife.
Stomp was unable to help Grace in this regard.
As for the Stomper, even before meeting N, he requested: "You can let me know too if there are other girls who are interested to know me too."
