A visit to a hair salon at Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru on Saturday afternoon took a chaotic turn for 44-year-old Singaporean fitness manager Douglas Ang when two masked men threw red paint at everyone inside.

"I usually go to the KSL branch, but decided to try this newly opened branch this time. At first, I thought someone was making a delivery-until I heard everyone shouting and saw my friend covered in red paint," Mr Ang told The New Paper on Oct 12.

Mr Ang said there were about 10 people in the salon, including staff, during the incident. "They just threw the paint at everyone and ran off. It was pretty chaotic. They were masked, so I couldn't tell who they were," he added.

He shared photos on Facebook to document the incident but declined to name the salon. "I don't think I should reveal which salon it is, it's not very nice," he said.

Mr Ang told TNP that the staff quickly helped everyone clean up and reported the incident to the local police. "The salon staff were very helpful and supportive," he added.

He mentioned he might not return to this branch, as it's not the outlet he usually frequents.

The salon is said to be a well-known brand in Malaysia, operating since 2004 with four outlets across the country.

TNP has reached out to the salon for more details on the incident.
